• My name is Penny (Penelope) Wenham (she/her), and I’m an integrative counsellor, which means I tailor my approach to your needs as an individual. I will use various elements of different techniques to find what is right for you, and this might include drawing on person-centred or psychodynamic therapy, as well as other types of therapy

  • I have a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, and a Level 6 Diploma in Gender, Sex and Relationship Diversity Therapy. As a gender, sexuality and relationship diversity (GSRD) affirming counsellor I offer focused support for anyone within the LGBTQIA+, kink, and polyamorous communities, which includes anyone who is exploring their sexuality, gender, or relationship dynamics, or knows someone who is and would like support with that. You can check out my listing in the Pink Therapy directory by clicking here

  • I’m registered with the BACP and NCPS and follow their ethical frameworks

  • I was a volunteer counsellor at Support U, a Reading based charity supporting the LGBT+ community across the Thames Valley, for five years

  • Regular appointments with me are 50 minutes long and cost £60. I offer a free, initial 20 minute phone or video call to talk about whether I’m the right counsellor for you, and whether counselling is what you want. If this initial meeting goes well and you choose to proceed with therapy we will then have a first full-length session where we will discuss in detail what you wish to achieve from counselling, some history about you, and create a working agreement for future sessions

  • I work face-to-face from a private office in Reading, Berkshire, and also online, which means I can work with people from all around the UK. Reading has good transport links, and my office is a short walk from the station if face-to-face is your preference. We can talk about where we will work together in our first call with each other
